Take a Swing at a Golf Career
By KristinK428 on Oct 17, 2007 in Careers, Education, Sports
This summer, I golfed for the first time. I had gone mini golfing and even to the driving ranges, but I decided I wanted a challenge. I saw the guys going out and playing 18 holes and I figured why not give it a try. After I hit a few balls in the water and a couple into the woods, I decided a golf career wasn’t for me.
I may not pursue golf any time soon, there are a lot of people that would excel at the job. Golf course jobs offer an opportunity for individuals who love golf and want to pursue it as a career. Jobs in this field range anywhere from ground maintenance and working at the pro shop to teaching golf and managing the course.
To be competitive in this line of work there are golf schools that offer degrees in golf. These schools aim to train students on becoming golf professionals. Individuals who receive a degree in a golf field are one step a head of the competition when searching for a job.
While the average person going to a school to study golf may not be the next Tiger Woods, they are future golf professionals who add value to the sport.
