Benefits that come with Drug Rehabilitation
By Ask Me on May 1, 2008 in Health
There are many benefits to long term drug rehabilitation. In fact, the best success rate comes from those that went to a long term program rather than a short term one. This is because the first month, at a minimum, is spent undergoing drug and alcohol detoxification. Trying to teach the behavioral skills that will help the addict maintain sobriety after drug rehab takes longer than a month.
Becoming an addict did not happen overnight. Learning the new behavioral skills will not be ingrained overnight either. The physical symptoms need to be addressed properly and the psychological dependency also needs quite a bit of attention. Complete detoxification and abstinence from the substance must be maintained.
Drug rehab is the best option for those that are addicted and abusing. Without this option, many now-sober addicts would still be using.
