Most parents want to be good parents. They want to do things right. But it’s hard to know all of the right things to do in a world where there are so many choices to make on a daily basis.

For example, take the simple task of washing kids bedding in your home. How often should you wash the sheets on your child’s bed? How often should you tear your child’s favorite skateboard bedding out of his arms in order to get it clean?

The truth is that there are no right and wrong answers when it comes to these kinds of parental tasks. Some people wash their children’s bedding every week. Others do it every other week. Many do it just when the bedding appears dirty enough to warrant washing. Still others will wash the bedding of young children weekly but only do teen bedding once a month.

The reality is that you just need to find the rituals that work for you. There’s nothing cut and dry when it comes to parenting even when you look at just simple tasks like cleaning up after your kids in the home. It’s a matter of making choices that make sense to you as a parent and hoping that you do well enough in the end.
